The RightMatch AI Search page helps recruiters and hiring teams quickly find the best candidates across applicants, interviewees, and the broader RightMatch talent network. This guide explains how to navigate the page, perform advanced searches, and use filters effectively.

1. Page Overview

When you open the Search page, you’ll see:

  • A search bar at the top for keyword and Boolean searches

  • A filter button on the right

  • Tabs for viewing results from different sources

  • A results list showing matching profiles with their RM Index (match score) and key skills

2. Understanding the Tabs

Right below the search bar, you’ll find three tabs that determine where RightMatch AI searches for candidates.

Applicants

Search among all candidates who have applied for your organization’s jobs.
These results show current applicants, their primary skills, locations, and RM Index scores.

Interviews

View and search among candidates who have completed or are scheduled for video interviews.
This is useful for revisiting interview-ready candidates or identifying strong performers from prior hiring rounds.

Outside Your Network

Expand your reach to candidates from the broader RightMatch Talent Network.
This tab searches thousands of additional profiles outside your organization, helping you source new talent.

3. Searching for Candidates

You can search by skills, tools, roles, or keywords in the main search bar.
RightMatch AI uses a flexible search engine that understands Boolean operators like AND, OR, and quotes (" ") to refine your results.

Examples

  • python OR sql → shows candidates with either Python or SQL experience

  • python AND tableau → shows only candidates who have both skills

  • "data visualization" → finds exact matches for that phrase

  • tableau AND (python OR sql) → finds candidates with Tableau and either Python or SQL

When you click on a candidate, a details panel opens on the right side with full information such as:

  • Resume excerpts

  • Skills detected

  • RM Index score

  • Location and experience

4. Filtering by Location

You can narrow your search to candidates within a specific location range.

  1. Click the filter button (top right of the search bar).

  2. Enter a city or region (e.g., New York, NY).

  3. Choose a search radius in miles.

  4. The search results will update automatically.

For example:
If you search python OR sql and filter by New York, NY, within 50 miles, you’ll see candidates near that area who match those skills.

5. Advanced Search Tips

RightMatch’s search system allows you to build more precise queries.
Here’s how to combine search operators for best results:

Operator

What It Does

Example

Meaning

AND

Includes profiles that match all terms

python AND tableau

Candidates with both Python and Tableau

OR

Includes profiles that match any term

sql OR power bi

Candidates with SQL or Power BI

NOT

Excludes a term

python NOT tableau

Python candidates without Tableau

Quotes (" ")

Searches for an exact phrase

"data visualization"

Exact phrase matches only

Parentheses ( )

Groups terms for combined logic

tableau AND (python OR sql)

Tableau + (Python or SQL)

This finds analysts with Python or SQL in their profiles.

("data analyst" OR "business analyst") AND (python OR sql)

Pro Tip:

Start simple (e.g., one or two skills), then add operators or filters to narrow down to the most relevant candidates.
