Try RightMatch from Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini

Written by Jason Ball

You can now run RightMatch directly from inside Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini using our MCP integration, no paid plan required to try it. Guest users get one free interview invite to test the full flow end to end. This guide walks you through it.

What you can do as a guest

From an AI chat, you can:

  • Create a new interview template for any role

  • Preview the skills, questions, and settings before anything goes out

  • Send one Mira video interview invite to a candidate

  • Get back the live invite link the candidate will receive

You get one invite total on the guest plan. After that, you'll be prompted to upgrade to keep sending.

Before you start

You'll need:

  1. An account on the AI client you want to use (Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini)

  2. The RightMatch MCP server URL: https://api.rightmatch.app/mcp

  3. A candidate to send the test invite to (your own email works fine)

Setup

Claude

  1. Open Claude in your browser or desktop app

  2. Go to Settings, then Connectors

  3. Click "Add custom connector"

  4. Paste in https://api.rightmatch.app/mcp and give it a name (RightMatch works)

  5. Authenticate when prompted

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT

  2. Go to Settings, then Connectors (or Apps and Connectors, depending on your plan)

  3. Add a new MCP server with the URL https://api.rightmatch.app/mcp

  4. Authenticate when prompted

Gemini

  1. Open Gemini

  2. Go to Settings, then Extensions or Connectors

  3. Add a new MCP server with the URL https://api.rightmatch.app/mcp

  4. Authenticate when prompted

Once connected, the RightMatch tools are available in any new chat with that client.

Send your first interview

Here's the flow you can run as a guest. The example below uses a Full Stack Developer role, but it works for any role.

Step 1: Kick it off

Start a new chat and tell the AI what you want. Something like:

Send a RightMatch interview to [email protected] for a Full Stack Developer role

The AI will pick up the RightMatch tools and walk you through the rest.

Step 2: Pick or create a template

If you already have templates in your account, the AI will list them and ask which one to use.

If you don't have any templates yet, it'll offer to create one. You can either paste in your own job description or have the AI draft skills and questions for you based on the role. You'll get a starter set of:

  • 3 to 5 skills, each with a target level (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert)

  • 5 conversational interview questions designed to be answered out loud on video

Edit, add, drop, or rewrite anything before the template gets saved.

Step 3: Review the preview

Before any invite is sent, the AI will render an interactive preview of the template showing the skills, questions, and current video intro status. It'll also list the candidates being invited and the settings (expiry, custom message, interview title override).

Defaults if you don't override anything:

  • Expiry: 3 days

  • Custom message: none

  • Interview title: same as the template title

Step 4: Add a video intro (optional, recommended)

If your template doesn't have a video intro yet, the preview UI will show a link to record one. Candidates see this video the moment they click the interview link, and it lifts completion rates a lot.

You can:

  • Record a new one through the template preview link

  • Use a video you've already hosted elsewhere (just give the AI the URL)

  • Skip it and send without

Step 5: Confirm and send

Once you're happy with everything, say "send it" (or "confirmed", "go", "ship it", anything unambiguous). The AI will fire the invite and return:

  • Confirmation that it sent

  • The invite link the candidate will receive

  • Per-candidate status, including whether SMS was included

Email and SMS delivery

Candidates get an email invite by default. If you include a phone number in the candidate info, they'll also get an SMS, which significantly lifts completion rates.

To include a phone, just mention it when you give the AI the candidate's details:

Send to Jane Smith, [email protected], +15125550123

The AI will convert common US formats to E.164 automatically. For international numbers, include the country code or it'll ask you to clarify.

What happens after you hit the guest limit

Guests get one free invite. If you try to send a second, you'll see something like:

You've used your free guest invite. Upgrade to send more.

Once you're upgraded, you can send up to 50 candidates per batch, no monthly cap on the higher plans.

Troubleshooting

The AI can't find any RightMatch tools. The MCP connector probably isn't installed or authenticated. Re-check the setup steps for your client.

Template preview doesn't show up. Refresh the chat or ask the AI to "show me the template" again. The preview is rendered by a specific tool and sometimes needs a nudge.

Invite link returned but candidate didn't get the email. Check spam first. If still missing, the candidate can use the invite link directly, it works as a shareable URL.

Video intro link in the preview isn't working. Open the template directly at https://rightmatch.app and add the video from the template edit page.

Tips for getting the most out of it

  • Be specific about the role. "Send an interview for a Senior Backend Engineer with Go and Kubernetes experience" gets a better starter template than just "Backend Engineer".

  • Edit the draft. The AI's first-pass skills and questions are a starting point, not a finished template. Tweak them to match how you actually screen.

  • Record the video intro before your first real send. Completion rates are noticeably higher when there's a face attached to the invite.

  • Reuse templates. Once you've got a good one for a role, all future sends for that role take seconds.
