RightMatch MCP: FAQ for customers

Common questions about running RightMatch from Claude: what the AI can access, whether anything sends without your confirmation, credits, security, and troubleshooting.

Written by Sterling Smith

What is the RightMatch MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude work with your tools. The RightMatch MCP connects your RightMatch account to Claude, so you can search candidates, review interviews, build templates, and send Mira invites by asking in plain English. Setup takes about 2 minutes: setup guide.

Can Claude send an interview without me confirming?

No. Every send goes through a preview step: you see the template, the candidate list, and the delivery settings, and nothing goes out until you explicitly confirm. This is enforced on our side, not just by the AI's good manners.

What data can the AI see?

Exactly what your RightMatch login can see: your roles, your candidates, their resumes, interview recordings and transcripts, scores, and templates. Nothing from other companies' workspaces. The connection is authorized per user and you can revoke it at any time from your AI client's connector settings.

Which AI clients work?

Claude (browser and desktop), ChatGPT, and Gemini. The server URL is the same for all: https://api.rightmatch.app/mcp.

Does using the MCP cost extra?

The connector itself is free for customers. Actions that consume credits in the app (sending interviews, resume enrichment) consume the same credits when triggered from Claude. Asking questions of your existing data costs nothing.

Do candidates know I'm using AI to review?

The MCP doesn't change what candidates see. Invites, interviews, and communications look the same whether you clicked buttons in the dashboard or asked Claude to do it.

How do I disconnect?

Remove the RightMatch connector in your AI client's settings (Claude: Settings, then Connectors). Access is revoked immediately.

Troubleshooting

Claude says it can't find RightMatch tools. The connector isn't installed or the authentication expired. Re-add it per the setup guide.

Authentication loop or login errors. Log in to rightmatch.app in the same browser first, then retry the connector authorization.

Results look stale. Ask Claude to re-run the query. If a just-uploaded resume is missing, wait a few minutes; resumes process asynchronously.

Anything else. Message us in the dashboard. Tell us the prompt you ran and what came back; we iterate on this weekly.
